Care & Fair

Almost ten years ago some European carpet traders founded the association Care & Fair – Carpet Trade Against Child Labour, to show responsibility. Care & Fair fights against illegal child labour in the manufacturing sector of hand knotted carpets. A buying boycott or sanctions may cause more problems amongst the children’s and their families. We can reduce the child lobour to provide them education, facilities for playing and also healthcare services. Education gives the children the chance for a life without exploitation.

For achieving the required goals, Care & Fair is buildings and maintaining schools, play grounds, clinics and hospitals for basic medical treatment in the carpet centres of India, Pakistan and Nepal. Up to now, more than 1.5 million Euros have been donated for this private development aid.
